The Miami Muffdivers entered the Monday night football game with a 33-point lead over the Philadelphia Griffins and were big favorites to finally win the franchise’s first championship. But then the Griffins dropped a coin into their Bijan Robinson pinball machine, and Fantasy Bowl XXXIV turned into a Philadelphia story. Robinson’s 32.5 points propelled the Griffins to a 62-53.5 comeback win.
The Griffins join the Blowfish and Mud franchises with a record 5 championships each.
In the third-place game, the Froglickers plugged in their own pinball machine named Derrick Henry and rode his 44 points to an easy 97.5-67 win over the Big Bang.
And in the fifth-place game, Monday night provided another comeback – this one for the Wildcats, who barely edged the Beach Dudes 66.5-63.
With one week left in the points race, Philadelphia leads Miami by 19.5 points, with the Big Bang (-35), Armadillos (-35.5) and, theoretically, Froglickers (-75.5) still within striking distance of an overall points prize.

Connecticut Wildcats headed to victory on the back of Coach Ron Yeany, while Coach Pat landy could only dream of reaching such heights, as he was busy costing his team the game. That and more in this week’s Around the League report.

Bijan Robinson and Philadelphia Griffins beat Miami Muffdivers for their 5th win in a row
Miami Muffdivers had the best record in the league coming into this game, but unfortunately for Coach Pat landy, the past was not prelude. Miami Muffdivers lost to Philadelphia Griffins, 62 to 53.5. The loss is more of the same for Miami Muffdivers, who dropped the last game with Philadelphia Griffins by the score of 59 to 46.5.
With the loss, Miami Muffdivers will close the season at 10 – 6. Philadelphia Griffins have now won five games in a row, bringing their record to 10 – 6.
Throughout Philadelphia Griffins’ winning streak, Bijan Robinson has been coming up with big performances. This week was no different. Philadelphia Griffins were led by the one-man team of Robinson, who was responsible for more than half of his team’s points. He scored 32.5 points, which is the most he’s gotten this year. He is on quite a hot streak, performing better than any other starter over the last three weeks.
Meanwhile, Miami Muffdivers can place the blame for this loss squarely on Sam Darnold, who managed only 2 points.1 Darnold has now been the worst starter on his team two times this season.
Coach Landy’s lineup moves played a huge part in Miami Muffdivers’ loss. He started Kenneth Gainwell instead of Parker Washington, despite the experts’ prediction that Washington should have played.
This decision cost Miami Muffdivers a total of 9.5 points, which cost them the game. Coach Landy might want to draw a lesson from what happened, as his team has a much better record when he follows the experts’ opinions on who to start.

44 points from Derrick Henry helps give Frelinghuysen Froglickers the win
It’s not that hard to win when you have the league’s top performer for the week, and Derrick Henry was that player. King Henry led the way as Frelinghuysen Froglickers stomped all over Big Oregon Bang 97.5 to 67. His 44 point performance topped all but one running back this season. He is the only player to score four rushing touchdowns in a single game with two different teams.
Aaron Rodgers provided the only truly sour note for Frelinghuysen Froglickers this week, as he scored 1 point. Rodgers’ performance definitively broke his three game streak of surpassing his projections.
Big Oregon Bang suffered through poor performances from Jahmyr Gibbs, Bucky Irving, and Drake London, who collectively scored only 5 points. It’s yet another disappointing day for Irving, who has now underperformed the experts’ predictions in three straight games. His performances have closely tracked the fortunes of Big Oregon Bang this season, as they have gone 1 – 3 when he fails to meet his expectations, and 4 – 0 when he meets them.
The win brings Frelinghuysen Froglickers’ record to 9 – 6, while dropping Big Oregon Bang to an identical 9 – 6.
Oh Captain my Captain
Great coaching decisions and Rhamondre Stevenson’s performance pay off for Connecticut Wildcats
Orange Co. Beach Dudes came into this week on a three game losing streak, and went ahead and signed up for more punishment. They came up a little short versus Connecticut Wildcats, losing 66.5 to 63. The loss must seem like deja vu for Orange Co. Beach Dudes, who also dropped the last game with Connecticut Wildcats by a 73.5 to 64.5 margin.
The loss brings the season to an end for Orange Co. Beach Dudes, who finishes at 6 – 9. The win gets Connecticut Wildcats back above .500 at 8 – 7.
Connecticut Wildcats were led by the two man wrecking crew of Rhamondre Stevenson and Colston Loveland, who combined for 52% of Connecticut Wildcats’ points. That makes it three straight games of overperforming expectations for Stevenson. He shook off a defender to score this first down and more.
Meanwhile, it will be difficult for Coaches dan callahan and Ross Hessler to fault any one player for the loss. Josh Jacobs was the worst of a five man group of underperformers on Orange Co. Beach Dudes, totaling only 0.5 points.1 Jacobs fell farther short of his expected points than any other player this week.
Coach Ron Yeany had a big hand in this week’s victory. He left Darius Slayton and his 4.7 expected points on the bench, favoring Isaac TeSlaa (2 points expected).
This decision boosted Connecticut Wildcats’ final score by 7.5 points, which was the difference in the game. It also made Coach Yeany the best performing gameday coach this week.
