Game recaps by CBS Fantasy Football AI Sports Reporters

Coaches Cathy Weaver and Doug Weaver were outstanding when it came to lineup decisions this week, while Coaches Chris Paret, Jeffrey Ozarski, and John Trzeciak had a very rough week in that department. Meanwhile, Ron Yeany won by setting a perfect lineup. Read all about it in this week’s report.

Perfect Win

Coach Yeany earned a perfect lineup and RJ Harvey gave a big performance

Hopefully Coaches Chris Paret, Jeffrey Ozarski, and John Trzeciak have been able to find excitement in the non-fantasy parts of their life. After last week’s blowout, they were involved in another no-doubter this week (and lost again). Happy Valley Violence got clobbered by Connecticut Wildcats, losing 72.5 to 37. Happy Valley Violence set their new low mark for the season with those 37 points.

The loss drops Happy Valley Violence to 3 – 10, and sinks them to the bottom of our internal power rankings. The win gets Connecticut Wildcats back above .500 at 7 – 6.

RJ Harvey led a very balanced group of five overperformers for Connecticut Wildcats this week, delivering 15 points. This is the 2nd time this year that Harvey has paced Connecticut Wildcats.

Meanwhile, the loss for Happy Valley Violence came down to a pretty simple factor: they didn’t go anywhere. Collectively, they only managed to gain 206 yards rushing and receiving. Happy Valley Violence were practicing their manners as they put every other team ahead of themselves in the RuReYd category this week.

On the coaching front, the gap in coaching ability was on display this week. Coaches Chris Paret, Jeffrey Ozarski, and John Trzeciak’s lineup matched the poor performance of their team. They left Omarion Hampton and his 7.6 expected points on the bench, favoring DJ Moore (3.9 points expected).

This terrible decision cost Happy Valley Violence a total of 10.5 points, which–thankfully for Coaches Chris Paret, Jeffrey Ozarski, and John Trzeciak–didn’t matter much this game. After their decisions this week, Coaches Chris Paret, Jeffrey Ozarski, and John Trzeciak have now cost their team points for the season (4 points worse than the experts).

Coach Ron Yeany added a perfect lineup to his win, which involved more than just going chalk. He started Isaac TeSlaa instead of Andrei Iosivas, despite the experts’ prediction that Iosivas should have played.

This decision boosted Connecticut Wildcats’ final score by 6 points. This is the first time this year that Coach Yeany has set a perfect lineup (slow clap).

Predict This!

23.5 points from Blake Corum were too much as Boxboro Blowfish defies expectations

Boxboro Blowfish were expected to get blownout in this game, but apparently that just made them angry. They gave Chicago Mud a 99.5 to 54 drubbing. With the win, Boxboro Blowfish put an end to their six game losing streak.

The win brings Boxboro Blowfish’s record to 4 – 9, while dropping Chicago Mud to 7 – 6.

When Coaches cathy weaver and Doug Weaver entertained thoughts of winning this game, they probably didn’t include the three players that ended up leading the way. Blake Corum scored 23.5 points, Jake Bates came up with 15, and J.J. McCarthy finished with 13. Corum put together the most unexpected significant performance this week, as he was projected to score only 3.3 points. He cut through Arizona’s defense like it wasn’t even there on this 48-yard score (then added an… interesting celebration).

Meanwhile, Coach Ronnie Feldman will have a hard time pinning the blame for this loss on any particular player. Deebo Samuel was the worst of a five man group of underperformers on Chicago Mud, dropping only 2 points.[1]

Coaches cathy weaver and Doug Weaver’s gameday decisions have been the best in the league this season, and their brilliance was on display again this week. They went with J.J. McCarthy over the higher ranked Jayden Daniels.

This great decision gave Boxboro Blowfish a nice 14 point bonus, which just made the final result that much more embarrassing. Coaches cathy weaver and Doug Weaver hardly need any more motivation to go against the experts, as they have taken more risks that any other coaches in the league.

Climb Aboard

Puka Nacua scores 28.5 points to help put away Miami Muffdivers

Coaches Paul Gilgallon and Sam McClain have put together the 3rd best group of wide receivers, and they showed their mettle again this week. Dallas Armadillos used sticky hands to power themselves to a 113 to 63.5 victory over Miami Muffdivers. Puka Nacua scored 28.5 points, while CeeDee Lamb scored 12. Nacua’s performance this week ended a four game streak of failing to hit his projections.

Dallas Armadillos also got a better-than-expected performance from Brandon Aubrey, who beat his projections by 18.2 points. Aubrey’s 26 point performance set the new high mark for all kickers this season.

Meanwhile, Coach Pat landy will find no easy scapegoat for this week’s loss. Miami Muffdivers had four underperformers, with Ladd McConkey (0.5 points) being the worst. McConkey’s 0.5 points made him the worst starter on his team for the 2nd time this season.

The win brings Dallas Armadillos’ record to 5 – 8, while dropping Miami Muffdivers to 8 – 5.

Oh My Josh!

Josh Allen (30 points) leads New Chester Thorobreds to a win over Frelinghuysen Froglickers

Josh Allen has been coming through for New Chester Thorobreds all year, and this week was no different. Allen was the key component as New Chester Thorobreds stole one from Frelinghuysen Froglickers, winning 74 to 71. His 30 points were the most that any quarterback collected this week. He is now the first QB in NFL history with three seasons of 20+ passing TDs and 10+ rushing TDs.

The only other player doing well on New Chester Thorobreds was Tee Higgins, who scored 21 points.

Frelinghuysen Froglickers lost despite the prodigious efforts of Jaxon Smith-Njigba. JSN scored 21.5 points, which were good for 3rd place among all wide receivers this week. Unfortunately, for Frelinghuysen Froglickers, he both began and ended the list of big performers on the squad.

Jeremy McNichols loomed large in the loss for Frelinghuysen Froglickers, notching 0.5 points. That performance was worse than every other player this week.[2] He has now failed to top the league average running back in seven straight games.

The win brings New Chester Thorobreds’ record to 7 – 6, while dropping Frelinghuysen Froglickers to 8 – 5.

Favorable Matchup

Big Oregon Bang’s running backs flex their muscles

This week featured five blowouts, but this one was the biggest. Big Oregon Bang pounded Mercer Mustangs into submission, winning 94 to 40.5. The win must seem like deja vu for Big Oregon Bang, who won the last game with Mercer Mustangs by a 58.5 to 51.5 margin.

The win brings Big Oregon Bang’s winning streak to six games, giving them a record of 9 – 4. The loss drops Mercer Mustangs’ record to 7 – 6.

Big Oregon Bang came in with the 3rd best performing running backs. Mercer Mustangs came in with the worst. The results were unsurprising. Big Oregon Bang saw Jahmyr Gibbs carry that group with a 27.5 point effort. Gibbs embarrassed Dallas’ defense in picking up this first down.

Mercer Mustangs had two different players in the running back group come up short, none of whom were worse than Tyler Allgeier, who scored only 2 points. Mercer Mustangs has never won when Allgeier failed to hit his expected points, going 0 – 4.

The other players on Big Oregon Bang kept up with the running backs, coming up with 55.5 points. That group was led by Michael Wilson, who scored 28.5 points. Apparently, Wilson must have felt bad after last week’s 1.5 point effort.

I Got This

Cameron Dicker calls his own number to earn a win

Coming into the game, Orange Co. Beach Dudes had scored the most points of any team over the last three weeks. This week they didn’t get big points or the win. Philadelphia Griffins demolished Orange Co. Beach Dudes, winning 99 to 54.5. Blowouts are par for the course for these teams these days. Orange Co. Beach Dudes has been involved in three straight blowout games, while this is the 2nd straight blowout game for Philadelphia Griffins.

The loss drops Orange Co. Beach Dudes back below .500 at 6 – 7. The win brings Philadelphia Griffins to 7 – 6.

Philadelphia Griffins won with a balanced effort, as five players outperformed their positional averages. Cameron Dicker was just a bit ahead of the others, posting 20 points. After Dicker’s performance this week, he moved up to being the 3rd best kicker in the league.

Meanwhile, Davante Adams hadn’t dropped the ball for Orange Co. Beach Dudes since week six’s stinker. Well, that run has come to an end. Adams, Breece Hall, and Ashton Jeanty were quite coordinated in their failures for Orange Co. Beach Dudes. They each delivered only 2 points.

Both teams face trouble in the upcoming schedule. Orange Co. Beach Dudes’ next game will be against Miami Muffdivers in a rematch from week five. Orange Co. Beach Dudes lost the previous matchup, but only by 3.5 points. Orange Co. Beach Dudes will be attempting to give Miami Muffdivers their first back-to-back losses.

Next week will feature a mirror image matchup when the 7 – 6 Philadelphia Griffins take on the 7 – 6 Connecticut Wildcats. The game will be a rematch from week eight, but Connecticut Wildcats will have Jared Goff, who had his bye week during the first matchup.

Keystone whiffs in the bye week

The Longfellows were eliminated from playoff contention a couple weeks ago and the coaches must have checked out as well, leaving bye-week Drake Maye in their starting lineup. Keystone scored 63 points nonetheless, but that was not enough to gain any FFL-GOO points in the standings.

[1] Player didn’t have fewest points on team, but did the worst versus their positional average
[2] Drake Maye had the lowest point total this week, but was in the lineup despite having a bye week.
