Game recaps by CBS Fantasy Football AI Sports Reporters

Coach Terry Muth went against the experts when setting their lineup this week, and that boldness resulted in a loss at the hands of Big Oregon Bang. Meanwhile, Pat landy won by setting a perfect lineup. Read all about it in this week’s report.

Too Hot to Handle

20 points from Troy Franklin helps give Big Oregon Bang the win

Coach Terry Muth tried to second guess the experts this week when setting their lineup, and the result was very costly. They left Drake Maye and Christian Watson on the bench in favor of Dak Prescott and Jauan Jennings, who were both expected to score less.

These decisions shaved 23 points from Keystone Longfellows’ score and cost them the game, as they couldn’t seal the deal against Big Oregon Bang (4 – 4), losing 69.5 to 65.

Troy Franklin was the key contributor for Big Oregon Bang, putting up 20 points. That was the most that any wide receiver collected this week.

Meanwhile, Keystone Longfellows had many underperformers, but Dak Prescott stood out, recording only 1 point. Dak’s performance this week definitively broke his four game streak of surpassing his projections. He had thrown 3+ TDs and no picks for four straight games, but both streaks ended this week.

Showstopper

Tucker Kraft’s 26.5 points sinks Frelinghuysen Froglickers

‘The thrill is gone’–at least when it comes to Frelinghuysen Froglickers’ recent games. The previous two games were blowouts, and this week’s action was no different. Frelinghuysen Froglickers got clobbered by Dallas Armadillos, losing 102.5 to 79. Bad luck for Frelinghuysen Froglickers in this contest, as they would have won this week against all but one other team.

The win evens up Dallas Armadillos’ record at 4 – 4. The loss drops Frelinghuysen Froglickers’ record to 4 – 3.

Dallas Armadillos relied heavily on Tucker Kraft, who scored 26.5 points. Kraft has become something of a lodestar for Dallas Armadillos, as they have never lost when he overperforms his expectations, going 3 – 0.

Meanwhile, while balance might be good for gymnasts, it didn’t help Frelinghuysen Froglickers this week. Derrick Henry topped the running back average by 7.9 points to lead the team, while Tyler Warren fell only 4 points short of the average TE in bringing up the rear. Warren’s 4 point performance made him the worst performer on Frelinghuysen Froglickers for the first time this year.

Dallas Armadillos will face off against Connecticut Wildcats next week. That team will limp into the contest having posted only 44.5 points this week. Making things even easier, Connecticut Wildcats will be without Jalen Hurts, who has a bye. As for Frelinghuysen Froglickers, they will match up with Philadelphia Griffins next week.

One More Makes Four

James Cook and Miami Muffdivers beat Happy Valley Violence for their 4th win in a row

Happy Valley Violence (2 – 6) came into this week with the worst record in the league, and finished this week with the worst record in the league. They suffered a huge loss to Miami Muffdivers (5 – 2), going down 107 to 78. Coaches Chris Paret, Jeffrey Ozarski, and John Trzeciak might be feeling extra bitter about the loss, given that Happy Valley Violence would have beaten eight other teams this week.

The game leaves both these teams streaking in opposite directions. The win brings Miami Muffdivers’ winning streak to four games. Another defeat makes it three in a row for Happy Valley Violence.

James Cook has been coming through for Miami Muffdivers all year, and this week was no different. Cook was a one-man wrecking crew, totaling 32 points. He set his high mark for the season with that effort. He embarrassed Carolina’s defense with this 64-yard house call.

Jacory Croskey-Merritt’s performance has been one of the main reasons that Happy Valley Violence has been on a losing streak, and this week was a case in point. Bill was one of three big underperformers, combining with Cade Otton and Nick Chubb to deliver 9 points. Unfortunately, more bad performances might be on tap for Croskey-Merritt, who has seen his point total drop in each of the last three weeks. Happy Valley Violence has never won when he failed to hit his expected points, going 0 – 4.

On the coaching front, Coach Pat landy wound up with a perfect lineup this week, albeit by following the CBSSports projections to the letter. He has now set more perfect lineups than any other coach in the league.

Working It

Breece Hall scores 28 points to help put away Boxboro Blowfish

After coming up with all of 3 points last week, Breece Hall came up clutch this week. Orange Co. Beach Dudes inched past Boxboro Blowfish, winning 64.5 to 61 behind 28 points from Hall. That topped all but two players this week.

Jaylen Waddle helped out as well, exceeding his projected point total by 7.7 points. Waddle scored a receiving touchdown this week and if you thought it looked familiar, you’re not alone. Carson Wentz provided the only truly sour note for Orange Co. Beach Dudes this week, as he scored 3 points.

Meanwhile, Kirk Cousins was the main culprit in Boxboro Blowfish’s loss, scoring only 1 point.[1] Underperforming is the new normal for Cousins, who has gone seven straight games without hitting his projected point total.

The win gets Orange Co. Beach Dudes back to .500 with a 4 – 4 record. The loss drops Boxboro Blowfish back below .500 at 3 – 4.

Taking the Reins

Philadelphia Griffins gets a big effort from Joe Flacco this week

Philadelphia Griffins just outclassed Connecticut Wildcats this week, earning a 61 to 44.5 victory. Philadelphia Griffins have averaged 53.5 points during their last two games – not what was expected of them as the highest scoring team going into week seven.

The win brings Philadelphia Griffins back to even at 4 – 4. The loss drops Connecticut Wildcats’ record to 4 – 3.

Philadelphia Griffins had several players step up in the win, as four starters beat their positional averages. Joe Flacco was the best of the bunch, notching 17 points. Flacco has now overperformed the experts’ predictions in four straight games. He completed some impressive passes this week, but he also had time to show off his ‘famous’ dual-threat ability.

Coach Ron Yeany put Kyle Monangai into the Connecticut Wildcats lineup for the first time this week, but Monangai might want to keep his bench warming pants clean. Monangai was the worst of six underperformers, posting zero points. That was the fewest of any running back this week.

Coach Nicholas Fisher should hope that the victory over a quality opponent like Connecticut Wildcats establishes a pattern, as his next two games are against winning teams, starting with Frelinghuysen Froglickers next week.

Meanwhile, Connecticut Wildcats will take on Dallas Armadillos. Bad timing for Connecticut Wildcats, as Dallas Armadillos will come into the matchup on a three game winning streak.

Bring the Pain

Jonathan Taylor (32 points) leads Chicago Mud to a win over New Chester Thorobreds

Chicago Mud came into this match-up riding high on a four game winning streak. Make it five. They ended up on top against New Chester Thorobreds, winning 75 to 61. The win brings Chicago Mud’s record to 6 – 1, while dropping New Chester Thorobreds to 2 – 5.

Jonathan Taylor separated himself from the rest of the crew on Chicago Mud, putting up 32 points. That’s all in a day’s work for the best player in the league.

Meanwhile, Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Zach Ertz were double trouble for New Chester Thorobreds, together recording only 5 points.

Next week, Chicago Mud will be playing Orange Co. Beach Dudes. Orange Co. Beach Dudes won this week, but that might be a good thing for Chicago Mud, since Orange Co. Beach Dudes has yet to win back-to-back games.

Next week New Chester Thorobreds will have a much easier challenge as they take on league doormat Happy Valley Violence. The game might wind up as a crawl to the finish, as it features the two lowest scoring teams in the league.

Mustangs corralled in Bye Week

The Mercer Mustangs were on bye this week, but they did not post a score high enough to boost them into the top half of scorers this week, so they receive no points. In fact Mercer’s 44 points was the low score of all teams this week.
