Game recaps by CBS Fantasy Football AI Sports Reporters

Mercer Mustangs lost in the worst way possible – embarrassing themselves in the process. Meanwhile, Philadelphia Griffins beat Big Oregon Bang within an inch of their lives as part of this week’s exciting action.

Demolition Derby

27 points from Bijan Robinson lead Philadelphia Griffins in huge blowout

In a week that featured five blowouts, this was the biggest. Philadelphia Griffins perfectly destroyed Big Oregon Bang, winning 123 to 63. That 60 point gap represents the biggest victory margin of the season.

The game evens up both teams’ records at 3 – 3.

Rico Dowdle made it into the starting lineup for the first time this week, and he definitely made the most of it. Dowdle joined up with Bijan Robinson and De’Von Achane to drop 78 points. Dowdle scored 26 points, which were the 3rd most of any player this week. He became just the 7th running back since the merger to post back-to-back games with 225+ yards from scrimmage.

There were plenty of chefs cooking up this week’s loss for Big Oregon Bang. They had six underperformers, with Michael Carter (2 points) being the worst.[1] Carter’s 2 points made him the worst starter on his team for the 1st time this season.

Philadelphia Griffins will face off against Boxboro Blowfish next week. Philadelphia Griffins will face off against Amon-Ra St. Brown in that game, part of a three game stretch against tough wide receivers which will see them take on Emeka Egbuka and Jaxon Smith-Njigba in the following weeks. Meanwhile, Big Oregon Bang will be playing Dallas Armadillos next week.

No Worries

Josh Jacobs leaves Happy Valley Violence in the rear view mirror

Coaches dan callahan and Ross Hessler might have been looking to rest their nerves a bit after last week’s nailbiter. They got the rest, and the win. Orange Co. Beach Dudes crushed Happy Valley Violence, winning 73 to 43. The win is more of the same for Orange Co. Beach Dudes, who won the last game with Happy Valley Violence by the score of 68.5 to 51.

The win gets Orange Co. Beach Dudes back to .500 with a 3 – 3 record. The loss drops Happy Valley Violence to 2 – 4, and sinks them to the bottom of our internal power rankings.

Two of the key players in this fight were real-life teammates, as Orange Co. Beach Dudes’ Keenan Allen squared off against Cameron Dicker. While they were on the same team, they sure didn’t deliver the same result. Keenan Allen disappointed with his measly 2 points for Orange Co. Beach Dudes. It’s yet another disappointing day for Allen, who has now underperformed the experts’ predictions in three straight games.

Meanwhile Cameron Dicker kept pace with a 17 point effort for Coaches Chris Paret, Jeffrey Ozarski, and John Trzeciak. That’s the most points that he’s scored so far this year.

With Allen failing to come through, it was up to the rest of the boys on Orange Co. Beach Dudes. They answered the call, scoring 71 points. That group was led by Josh Jacobs, who scored 23.5 points. Jacobs managed to punch in two touchdowns despite throwing up before, during, and after the game.

Don’t Test Me

Cam Skattebo (27 points) leads Frelinghuysen Froglickers to a win over Keystone Longfellows

Frelinghuysen Froglickers had gotten terrible production out of their running backs this season (4th worst in the league), but this week it was a whole different story. Frelinghuysen Froglickers ran their way to a 101.5 to 63 win over Keystone Longfellows. Cam Skattebo scored 27 points, while Derrick Henry scored 10.5. Skattebo overperformed his expectations by more than any other player.

Ja’Marr Chase helped out as well, exceeding his projected point total by 8.2 points. Chase put in his nomination this week for the catch of the year.

Meanwhile, Coach Terry Muth can blame the loss on Kenneth Walker III, Jauan Jennings, and Chase Brown, who together managed only 7 points. Brown has yet to give Keystone Longfellows even one week of above average running back play this season.

In the loss, Keystone Longfellows had three solid performers, with Trey McBride, Jameson Williams, and Dak Prescott notching 43 points. Williams’ performance this week ended a three game streak of failing to hit his projections.

The win gets Frelinghuysen Froglickers back above .500 at 3 – 2. The loss drops Keystone Longfellows back below .500 at 2 – 3.

Monster

George Pickens’ 23.5 points were too much for Connecticut Wildcats

New Chester Thorobreds have owned Connecticut Wildcats in the past to the tune of a 12 and 3 record, and went ahead and added to that ledger of dominance this week. They wound up with a solid victory against Connecticut Wildcats, winning 60.5 to 52. New Chester Thorobreds got some measure of revenge on Connecticut Wildcats for their matchup back in week one, when New Chester Thorobreds lost 87 to 68.

The win brings New Chester Thorobreds’ record to 2 – 3, while dropping Connecticut Wildcats to 3 – 2.

George Pickens separated himself from the rest of the crew on New Chester Thorobreds, producing 23.5 points. Pickens is on quite a hot streak, performing better than any other starter over the last three weeks. He went for 168 receiving yards despite busting out some… interesting moves.

Meanwhile, Connecticut Wildcats had plenty of duds in the loss. Cam Little was the worst of a four man group of underperformers, scoring -2 points. That set the new low mark for points in a week this season.

Coaches mike white and Rich Sladic might have gotten the victory this week, but it wasn’t due to their efforts. They left Zach Ertz and his 5 expected points on the bench, favoring Tank Bigsby (0.6 points expected).

This terrible decision shaved 10 points from New Chester Thorobreds’ score, which–thankfully for Coaches mike white and Rich Sladic–didn’t matter much this game. After their decisions this week, Coaches mike white and Rich Sladic have now cost their team points for the season (6 points worse than the experts).

Ouch

Zach Charbonnet and Mercer Mustangs set the league’s low point mark

The experts must be feeling pretty smart this week. They predicted that Mercer Mustangs would score the fewest points this week, and that’s exactly what they did. They got absolutely demolished by Miami Muffdivers, losing 85 to 30.5. In addition to losing the game, Coach Jim Waugh had the distinction of posting the worst score in the league so far this season.

Miami Muffdivers have now won three games in a row, which brings their record to 4 – 2. The loss drops Mercer Mustangs’ record to 3 – 3.

Patrick Mahomes has been the key player throughout Miami Muffdivers’s winning streak, and came through again this week. Showtime led a very balanced group of four overperformers for Miami Muffdivers, putting up 24 points. His performance on Sunday night took him from the 2nd best quarterback to the best quarterback in the league. He picked up four touchdowns, 257 passing yards, and a new enemy.

Meanwhile, Mercer Mustangs really lost this game as a team. They were brought down by five underperformers, the worst of whom was Zach Charbonnet (0.5 points).1 Charbonnet has now failed to exceed the average running back’s point total in any week this year.

Sweet Mercy

Tetairoa McMillan helps Dallas Armadillos end their 4 game losing streak

‘We can build on this.’ Dallas Armadillos, who stumbled into week six with the worst record in the league, better hope so. They gave Boxboro Blowfish a 57.5 to 33.5 drubbing. With the win, Dallas Armadillos put an end to their four game losing streak.

The win brings Dallas Armadillos’ record to 2 – 4, while dropping Boxboro Blowfish to 2 – 3.

Dallas Armadillos won with a balanced effort, as four players outperformed their positional averages. Tetairoa McMillan was the first among equals, racking up 13.5 points.[2] Dallas Armadillos got the win despite leaving Kimani Vidal and his 17.5 points on the bench. Vidal’s performance this week was better than every other bench-rider in the league.

While Dallas Armadillos had plenty of heroes in the victory, Boxboro Blowfish saw seven different players underperform, and while none of them particularly stuck out, Hassan Haskins and his 0.5 points was officially the worst. Haskins has now failed to hit his expected points in any game so far this year.

Matthew Stafford falling 6.8 points short of his expectations didn’t help matters much either. Stafford moved up to 9th all time in passing yards, but unfortunately it was on the back of just 187 yards and one TD. Boxboro Blowfish only had one player who gave a passable performance this week, with A.J. Brown scoring 8 points.

Bye week Mud get no FFL points

Chicago Mud was on bye this week, and scored 59 points. That total was the top score of the bottom half of all teams this week, so no scoring point for the Mud.
