Love Thy Nabers
Malik Nabers’ 29.5 points sinks Chicago Mud
Connecticut Wildcats earned a pretty comfortable victory over Chicago Mud, winning 77 to 58. The win brings Connecticut Wildcats’ record to 2 – 0, while dropping Chicago Mud to 1 – 1.
Connecticut Wildcats relied heavily on Malik Nabers, who totaled 29.5 points. That performance was good for 2nd place among all players this week.[1] He caught this 48-yarder to give the Giants the lead with time running out.
Meanwhile, Justin Fields was the main culprit in Chicago Mud’s loss, managing only 2 points.[2] That performance was the worst of any player this week.1 He passed for a paltry 27 yards before winding up in concussion protocol.
The outcome of this one would have been different if Coach Ronnie Feldman had gotten all of his lineup picks right. He left Caleb Williams and Michael Pittman on the bench in favor of Fields and Sam LaPorta, who were both expected to score less.
These decisions shaved 10.5 points from Chicago Mud’s score. If Coach Feldman had left Fields and LaPorta on the bench and also started Deebo Samuel, Chicago Mud would have won the game.
All Eyes on Me
Amon-Ra St. Brown scores 30.5 points to help put away Happy Valley Violence
Boxboro Blowfish sent Happy Valley Violence crying home to mommy after a thorough 88.5 to 56 spanking. That 33 point margin was the biggest gap between any two teams this week.
The win brings Boxboro Blowfish back to even at 1 – 1. The loss drops Happy Valley Violence’s record to 0 – 2.
It’s not that hard to win when you have the league’s top performer for the week, and Amon-Ra St. Brown was that player. St. Brown was a one-man wrecking crew, delivering 30.5 points. He came down with three receiving touchdowns on Sunday ( and one could argue his best play wasn’t even a TD).
Meanwhile, Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Omarion Hampton were double trouble for Happy Valley Violence, together dropping only 0.5 points.
Coaches cathy weaver and Doug Weaver did their part in the victory, setting a perfect lineup. That took more than just following the experts’ advice. They started Jayden Daniels and Marquise Brown instead of J.J. McCarthy and Khalil Shakir, despite expert advice to do the exact opposite.
These decisions boosted Boxboro Blowfish’s final score by 15 points, which only added to Boxboro Blowfish’s domination. This makes it back-to-back weeks where Coaches cathy weaver and Doug Weaver have outsmarted the experts.

Coach Rupert and Jahmyr Gibbs deliver victory to Big Oregon Bang
The week was a successful one for Big Oregon Bang, and nobody deserves more credit than Coach Wayne rupert. He went with Chris Olave over the higher ranked Matthew Golden.
This decision gave Big Oregon Bang a nice 5 point bonus and was the difference in the game, as they just edged by New Chester Thorobreds (0 – 2), winning 52 to 49.
Jahmyr Gibbs and Bucky Irving were the key contributors for Big Oregon Bang, delivering 14.5 and 10 points, respectively.
Meanwhile, it will be difficult for Coaches mike white and Rich Sladic to fault any one player for the loss. New Chester Thorobreds had four underperformers, with Josh Allen (4 points) being the worst.2 That was quite a falloff from last week, when he scored 34 points.
These teams will see a difference in the quality of their upcoming opponents. Big Oregon Bang faces Frelinghuysen Froglickers next week in a battle of two undefeated teams. Meanwhile, New Chester Thorobreds will be playing Keystone Longfellows in a battle of two teams that are both looking for their first win.
Putting on a Show
Quentin Johnston was tops on Mercer Mustangs in the win
Scoring the fewest points in the league for the week is bad strategy. Just ask Coaches dan callahan and Ross Hessler. Orange Co. Beach Dudes got beat by Mercer Mustangs, 56 to 46.5. The game evens up both teams’ records at 1 – 1.
Mercer Mustangs got a nice group performance in the win, as four players beat their positional averages. Quentin Johnston was just a bit ahead of the others, dropping 11.5 points.[3] There were four underperformers keeping Mercer Mustangs from a proper victory, with Zach Charbonnet (zero points) being the worst of them.
Meanwhile, there were plenty of chefs cooking up this week’s loss for Orange Co. Beach Dudes. Courtland Sutton was the worst of a six man group of underperformers, notching only 0.5 points. Breece Hall falling 5.9 points short of his expectations didn’t help matters much either. Orange Co. Beach Dudes only had one player who gave a passable performance this week, with Keenan Allen scoring 11.5 points.3
Jared Go-off
Jared Goff (29 points) leads Philadelphia Griffins to a win over Dallas Armadillos
Jared Goff was probably in Coach Nicholas Fisher’s doghouse after last week’s 7 point ‘performance’. He might be let out now. Goff was the key component as Philadelphia Griffins got past Dallas Armadillos, winning 103 to 97. His 29 points topped all but one quarterback this week. He threw as many incompletions as he did touchdowns on Sunday (5), though his Lions Leap was far less impressive.
Travis Etienne helped out as well, exceeding his projected point total by 5.9 points.
Meanwhile, two players stood out for their poor performance on Dallas Armadillos, with Joe Burrow and Travis Hunter combining to score only 5.5 points. Burrow suffered another heartbreaking injury on Sunday, something that tends to happen playing behind one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL.
In almost any other game, Dallas Armadillos’ six overperforming players (led by Brandon Aubrey, 23 points) would have brought home a win. Aubrey’s 23 point performance was the most that any kicker collected this week.
The game leaves both teams squared up at one win and one loss.

James Cook’s 23.5 points were too much for Keystone Longfellows
Miami Muffdivers were able to grind out a solid victory this week against Keystone Longfellows, winning by a score of 78 to 65.5. The win evens up Miami Muffdivers’ record at 1 – 1. The loss drops Keystone Longfellows’ record to 0 – 1.
James Cook separated himself from the rest of the crew on Miami Muffdivers, producing 23.5 points. That was good for 2nd place among all running backs this week. He broke some ankles on this 44-yard TD.
Meanwhile, Chase McLaughlin loomed large in the loss for Keystone Longfellows, delivering zero points. That was the fewest of any kicker this week.
Next week will see Miami Muffdivers taking on the 1 – 1 Philadelphia Griffins. Coach Nicholas Fisher’s team just had a huge week, having posted 103 points. Meanwhile, Keystone Longfellows will collide with New Chester Thorobreds. That team will limp into the contest having posted only 49 points this week.
Froglickers earn a point during the bye week
The defending champions were on a bye this week, but still scored 77 points and finished in the top half of all total team points this week, earning one FFL point in the standings.
