Man of Steel

James Conner scores 23.5 points to help put away Chicago Mud

Chicago Mud came into this week on a three game losing streak, and went ahead and signed up for more punishment. They could not make it much of a game, losing to Connecticut Wildcats 95 to 70.5. Chicago Mud beat Connecticut Wildcats back in week five, so the turnabout this week was fair play.

With the loss, Chicago Mud will close the season at 8 – 6. The win brings Connecticut Wildcats to 9 – 5.

Connecticut Wildcats, who were favored to win the game, had a decent start during the early Sunday games.  Malik Nabers’s 16 points were the key contribution. Nabers’ performance this week stopped his three game streak of not meeting his projections.

Meanwhile, Coach Ronnie Feldman’s squad was taking a collective personal day.  Tua Tagovailoa didn’t make his coach proud this week, scoring only 2 points. Coach Feldman has to be used to bad scores from Tagovailoa, who has been the worst performer on Chicago Mud more times than any other player.

Chicago Mud also had to deal with a poor effort from Tyreek Hill (9 points below expected).

Going into the Sunday late games, Connecticut Wildcats were already looking good. It was over for good after James Conner scored 23.5 points.

Winning Ways

Josh Allen and New Chester Thorobreds beat Miami Muffdivers for their 6th win in a row

New Chester Thorobreds started the post-season off with a bang. They destroyed Miami Muffdivers, winning 110 to 69. New Chester Thorobreds set their new high mark for the season with those 110 points.

That’s six straight wins for New Chester Thorobreds, for those of you counting, which gives them a 9 – 5 record. Miami Muffdivers will finish their season at 7 – 7.

Two of the key players in this fight were real-life teammates, as New Chester Thorobreds’ Amari Cooper squared off against James Cook. While they were on the same team, they sure didn’t deliver the same result. Amari Cooper disappointed with his measly zero points for New Chester Thorobreds. Coaches mike white and Rich Sladic have to be used to bad scores from Cooper, who has been the worst performer on New Chester Thorobreds more times than any other player.

Meanwhile James Cook kept pace with a 21.5 point effort for Coach Pat landy. Cook dodged multiple defenders (and an unplanned haircut) when he scored this huge touchdown on Sunday.

With Cooper failing to come through, it was up to the rest of the boys on New Chester Thorobreds. They answered the call, scoring 110 points. Of that crew, Josh Allen led the way with 36 points. A good performance by Allen has been crucial for New Chester Thorobreds all year, as they have gone 6 – 1 when he exceeds expectations, and 1 – 4 when he doesn’t.
