by CBS Fantasy Football AI Journalist

Dallas Armadillos won their 3rd in a row, while Philadelphia Griffins took yet another hit to the loss column. Other interesting news such as Chicago Mud’s first loss of the season, in this week’s recap.

No Streak For You!

George Kittle and New Chester Thorobreds deny Chicago Mud a 5th straight win

Chicago Mud came into this week’s match-up on a four-game win streak, but New Chester Thorobreds put an end to that, winning 74.5 to 63. New Chester Thorobreds were able to give Chicago Mud some payback for their week one matchup, when Chicago Mud thoroughly defeated New Chester Thorobreds 98 to 57.

This was Chicago Mud’s first loss of the season, which gives them a 4 – 1 record. The win brings New Chester Thorobreds to 2 – 4.

George Kittle was the clear leader on New Chester Thorobreds this week, scoring 16.5 points.(1) That was the 2nd most of any tight end this season. He sure has the fundamentals down: just look at his footwork on this TD.

Meanwhile, Coach Ronnie Feldman will have a hard time pinning the blame for this loss on any particular player. Chicago Mud were brought down by five underperformers, the worst of whom was Mike Evans (1 point). This is the 1st time this year that he was the worst starter on his team.

Chicago Mud was the hardest test New Chester Thorobreds will face for a while, as its next three games are against sub .500 teams, starting with Miami Muffdivers next week.

Meanwhile, Chicago Mud will take on Happy Valley Violence. Happy Valley Violence will come into the game with some momentum, having posted back-to-back 80+ point games.

Don’t Test Me

David Montgomery scores 18.5 points to help put away Connecticut Wildcats

Coming into the game, Connecticut Wildcats had scored the second most points of any team over the last three weeks. They got plenty of points again this week, but no win. Coach Ron Yeany’s squad ended up pretty far behind in this one, 99 to 83.5 to Happy Valley Violence. It was a brutally unlucky loss for Connecticut Wildcats, who would have won EVERY other game being played this week.

The win evens up Happy Valley Violence’s record at 3 – 3. The loss drops Connecticut Wildcats’ record to 4 – 2.

Happy Valley Violence had several players step up in the win, as five starters beat their positional averages. David Montgomery was the first among equals, tallying 18.5 points. Montgomery has now overperformed the experts’ predictions in five straight games. He celebrated one of his touchdowns in an iconic fashion.

Coach Yeany put Jaleel McLaughlin into the Connecticut Wildcats lineup for the first time this week, but McLaughlin might want to keep his bench warming pants clean. McLaughlin and Jalen Tolbert combined to total 4 points for Connecticut Wildcats. That continues a theme for McLaughlin, who is yet to top the average running back’s point total in any week so far.

Both teams have a tough upcoming schedule. Coach Yeany is probably happy with how his team has played so far this season, but he has to be concerned about his team’s recent performance. Connecticut Wildcats have now lost their last two games. Coach Yeany will have to hope things turn around in next week’s matchup with Frelinghuysen Froglickers. Frelinghuysen Froglickers will get to start the league’s hottest player in Derrick Henry.

Coaches Chris Paret, Jeffrey Ozarski, and John Trzeciak should hope that the victory over Connecticut Wildcats establishes a pattern, as the next three games for Happy Valley Violence are against winning teams, starting with Chicago Mud next week.

Monster

Chris Godwin (26.5 points) leads Dallas Armadillos to a win over Keystone Longfellows

It wasn’t too close for comfort, but it was still pretty close, as Dallas Armadillos beat Keystone Longfellows 74 to 68.5. The victory makes it three in a row for Dallas Armadillos, and gives them a record of 3 – 2. The loss drops Keystone Longfellows’ record to 2 – 4.

Chris Godwin was the key contributor for Dallas Armadillos, scoring 26.5 points. Godwin topped all but one player this week with that performance. He was absolutely unstoppable on this 55-yard go-ahead TD.

Meanwhile, Keystone Longfellows suffered through poor performances from Christian Kirk, DJ Moore, and Austin Ekeler, who collectively scored only 6.5 points. Moore’s 2 points were the fewest he has scored so far this year. His momentum from last week’s 21.5 point performance apparently didn’t carry over.

The schedule for Keystone Longfellows brings Philadelphia Griffins around next week. Philadelphia Griffins will come into the game looking for their first win. As for Dallas Armadillos, they will match up with Mercer Mustangs.

Better Lucky than Good

Keenan Allen helps Orange Co. Beach Dudes to a lucky win

Orange Co. Beach Dudes took Miami Muffdivers out of the playoffs last year, and went ahead and rubbed some salt in that wound this week. They had just enough against Miami Muffdivers, winning 58.5 to 51. Big time luck for Orange Co. Beach Dudes in this contest, as they would have lost against all but one other team.

The win gets Orange Co. Beach Dudes back to .500 with a 2 – 2 – 1 record. The loss drops Miami Muffdivers back below .500 at 2 – 3.

Orange Co. Beach Dudes were led by the two man wrecking crew of Keenan Allen and Deebo Samuel, who combined for 51% of Orange Co. Beach Dudes’ points. Deebo scored 14.5 points, which is the most he’s gotten so far this year. He made a mockery of Seattle’s defense when he scored this 76-yarder on Thursday.

Miami Muffdivers, meanwhile, were having a terrible time moving the ball down the field, with the whole team gaining only 275 yards. Miami Muffdivers were practicing their manners as they put every other team ahead of themselves in the RuReYd category this week.

On the coaching front, the gap in coaching ability was on display this week. Coaches dan callahan and Ross Hessler wound up with a perfect lineup this week, albeit by following the CBSSports projections to the letter. That makes it back-to-back perfect lineups for Coaches dan callahan and Ross Hessler.

Coach Pat landy’s lineup moves played a huge part in Miami Muffdivers’ loss. He left James Cook in the lineup, despite the fact that he was a guaranteed zero points.

That cost his team 9.5 points, which cost his team the game. His lineup moves pushed him into negative territory for the season, costing his team 5 points versus what the experts would have done.

Too Hot to Handle

Garrett Wilson’s 17 points were too much for Philadelphia Griffins

Philadelphia Griffins came into this week with the worst record in the league, and finished this week with the worst record in the league. They lost a tight one against Mercer Mustangs, 67.5 to 64.5. Losing by only 3 points, Philadelphia Griffins suffered the closest loss this week.

Another defeat makes it six in a row for Philadelphia Griffins, and puts their record at 0 – 6. The win brings Mercer Mustangs to 4 – 2.

Mercer Mustangs were led by the tag team of Garrett Wilson and Najee Harris, who together tallied 33 points. Wilson’s performance paced Mercer Mustangs for the 2nd time this year.

Meanwhile, this week’s loss for Philadelphia Griffins was a true group effort. They had five underperformers, with Jeremy McNichols (zero points) being the worst. Coach Nicholas Fisher found out why he was available on the waiver wire this week.

Next week will see Mercer Mustangs taking on the 3 – 2 Dallas Armadillos. Bad timing for Mercer Mustangs, as Dallas Armadillos will come into the matchup on a three game winning streak. Meanwhile, Philadelphia Griffins will be playing Keystone Longfellows.

Showstopper

A.J. Brown drops 17 points in leading Boxboro Blowfish to victory

Big Oregon Bang’s point total had gotten lower and lower for each of the past three weeks. They broke that streak this week, but it didn’t matter. Coach Wayne rupert’s boys couldn’t stay with Boxboro Blowfish, losing 68.5 to 51. The loss drops Big Oregon Bang’s record to 2 – 4, while the win brings Boxboro Blowfish to 4 – 2.

The rest of Coaches cathy weaver and Doug Weaver’s team were basically spectating, as Joe Mixon, A.J. Brown, and Austin Seibert combined for 76% of Boxboro Blowfish’s points. Mixon showed no rust whatsoever in his return this week, racking up 132 total yards and a pair of scores.

Big Oregon Bang suffered from two goose eggs, with Tank Bigsby and Marvin Harrison Jr. failing to contribute anything. Underperforming is the new normal for Harrison Jr., who has gone three straight games without hitting his projected point total.
