CeeDee Lamb helps deliver a win for Dallas Armadillos

After losing three straight games, Coach Nicholas Fisher’s squad figured: ‘Why not another?’ Philadelphia Griffins could not make it much of a game, losing to Dallas Armadillos 79 to 59.5. Philadelphia Griffins have now failed to hit the league average point total in four straight games.

The loss drops Philadelphia Griffins to 0 – 4, and sinks them to the bottom of our internal power rankings. The win brings Dallas Armadillos to 1 – 2.

Dallas Armadillos got off to a good start early. CeeDee Lamb carried the water, scoring 15.5 points. Lamb scored this 55 yard TD on Thursday, but his actions after the game were even more highlight-worthy.

Dallas Armadillos also got a solid effort from Chuba Hubbard (7.4 points above expected). It’s also the 3rd straight week that he has outperformed his projections.

Meanwhile, Philadelphia Griffins were sputtering along with a less than stellar performance. Bijan Robinson was the worst of a three man group of underperformers, scoring only 4 points.

A win was looking pretty unlikely for Philadelphia Griffins going into Monday night’s game. The door slammed shut for good after De’Von Achane scored only 1.5 points.

Down to the Wire

All 11.5 of Stefon Diggs’ points counted in Miami Muffdivers’ win

Boxboro Blowfish came into this week’s match-up on a three-game win streak, but Miami Muffdivers put an end to that. Miami Muffdivers just slipped by Boxboro Blowfish, 48.5 to 48. Coach Pat landy should thank his lucky stars he drew Boxboro Blowfish for this week’s contest, since his squad would have lost to EVERY other team this week.

The win brings Miami Muffdivers back to even at 2 – 2. The loss is the first of the season for Boxboro Blowfish, dropping their record to 3 – 1.

Stefon Diggs and Joe Burrow were the key contributors for Miami Muffdivers, dropping 11.5 and 11 points, respectively. That makes it three straight games where Burrow has outperformed the league average quarterback.

Meanwhile, Devin Singletary and Cam Akers were double trouble for Boxboro Blowfish, together notching only 3.5 points. That continues a theme for Akers, who is yet to top the average running back’s point total in any week so far.

On the coaching front, the difference in tactical skill showed this week. Coach Landy can pat himself on the back for this week’s victory. He went with Jerome Ford over the higher ranked Gabe Davis.

This decision boosted Miami Muffdivers’ final score by 7 points, which was the difference in the game. After his decisions this week, Coach Landy’s lineup moves are now a net-plus for the year.

Coaches cathy weaver and Doug Weaver also tried to second guess the experts this week when setting their lineup, but it didn’t work out quite as well. They left Jayden Daniels and his 15 expected points on the bench, favoring Dak Prescott (11.3 points expected).

This decision took a 6 point chunk out of Boxboro Blowfish’s final score, which cost them the game. Despite things not working out, expect more risk taking from Coaches cathy weaver and Doug Weaver, who have gone against the experts more times than any other coaches in the league.

Hidden Talent

Jordan Love (27 points) watches Keystone Longfellows win from the bench

Both Keystone Longfellows and Happy Valley Violence entered this game ice cold. Keystone Longfellows had scored the fewest points of any team this season, while Happy Valley Violence had scored the second fewest points of any team. Keystone Longfellows shrugged off their troubles this week though.

Keystone Longfellows made it look easy against Happy Valley Violence, winning 92.5 to 69.5. The win is the first of the season for Keystone Longfellows, making their record 1 – 3. The defeat puts Happy Valley Violence on a three game losing streak, dropping their record to 1 – 3.

Keystone Longfellows relied heavily on Kenneth Walker III, who produced 26 points. That performance was good for 4th place among all players this week.(1)

Sam Darnold helped out as well, exceeding his projected point total by 7.4 points. Darnold threw a trio of touchdowns this week, with the most impressive being this perfectly thrown dime.

Keystone Longfellows would have been even better off if Coach Terry Muth had put Jordan Love (27 points) in the lineup. Love’s performance this week was better than every other bench-rider in the league.

Meanwhile, Rhamondre Stevenson loomed large in the loss for Happy Valley Violence, putting up 3 points. Coaches Chris Paret, Jeffrey Ozarski, and John Trzeciak didn’t do their team any favors by starting Allen Lazard against the experts’ advice. Lazard contributed only 4.5 points.

Show’s Over

Baker Mayfield and Chicago Mud put an end to Frelinghuysen Froglickers’ three game streak

Chicago Mud made sure that they didn’t become the 4th straight team to lose to Frelinghuysen Froglickers, winning 98.5 to 87. The 98.5 points that Chicago Mud dropped were the most they scored so far this year.

With the win, they moved to 3 – 0, good for the top spot in the Paterno division. The loss was only the first for Frelinghuysen Froglickers, whose record now sits at 3 – 1.

Baker Mayfield did about as good for Chicago Mud this week as he did bad last week. Although Chicago Mud had several players step up in the win, Mayfield was the first among equals, racking up 23 points. That was the 3rd most of any quarterback this week. He was even hotter than the weather in Tampa Bay on Sunday: he tossed a pair of TDs and ran in another.

Meanwhile, two players stood out for their poor performance on Frelinghuysen Froglickers, with J.K. Dobbins and Jake Elliott combining to score only 4.5 points. Bad performances are pretty common these days for Elliott, who has now underperformed the experts’ predictions in three straight games.

The strength of schedule diverges for these squads next week. Someone will walk away with their first record blemish as the undefeated Chicago Mud takes on the undefeated Connecticut Wildcats. The game will be a clash of the titans, as those are the two top teams in the league.

Frelinghuysen Froglickers’ next game will be against Philadelphia Griffins in a rematch from week one. Frelinghuysen Froglickers won the previous matchup easily. Philadelphia Griffins will come into the game looking for their first win.

One More Makes Four

Diontae Johnson and Connecticut Wildcats make it four in a row against New Chester Thorobreds

After last week’s blowout, New Chester Thorobreds got a big change of pace with this week’s tight contest versus Connecticut Wildcats. They lost a heartbreaker against Connecticut Wildcats, 66 to 65.

The win makes it four in a row for Connecticut Wildcats, giving them a record of 4 – 0. The loss drops New Chester Thorobreds’ record to 1 – 3.

Diontae Johnson led a very balanced group of four overperformers for Connecticut Wildcats this week, recording 14.5 points.(2)

Meanwhile, New Chester Thorobreds were having trouble reaching paydirt, getting into the end zone only one time. No other team scored fewer TDs this week.

The scoreboard operator might be kept busy when Connecticut Wildcats and Chicago Mud, the two highest scoring teams in the league, face off next week. Chicago Mud will come into the game undefeated. As for New Chester Thorobreds, they will square off against Dallas Armadillos.

Leave it to Me

Jahmyr Gibbs takes control of the game as Big Oregon Bang wins

Big Oregon Bang didn’t have too much trouble with Mercer Mustangs this week, winning 79.5 to 64.5. Big Oregon Bang got some measure of revenge on Mercer Mustangs for their matchup back in week one, when Mercer Mustangs crushed Big Oregon Bang 64.5 to 31. The result gets both squads back to a .500 record at 2 – 2.

Big Oregon Bang had two main stars in Jahmyr Gibbs and Geno Smith, who together delivered 36 points. Smith setting career-highs in passing attempts (56), completions (38) and yards (395) still wasn’t enough to beat Detroit on Monday.

Meanwhile, Mercer Mustangs really lost this game as a team. They had six underperformers, with Derek Carr (3 points) being the worst.(3)

Next week will see Big Oregon Bang taking on the 1 – 3 Keystone Longfellows. That game will see both of this week’s top quarterbacks square off, when Justin Fields matches up against Jordan Love.

Meanwhile, Mercer Mustangs will collide with Orange Co. Beach Dudes next week. Coach Waugh is getting Orange Co. Beach Dudes at the right time, as they will limp into next week’s game having posted less than 55 points each of the last one weeks.
