by CBS Fantasy Journalist

Chicago Mud took yet another hit to the loss column, while Keystone Longfellows won their 4th in a row. Other interesting news such as New Chester Thorobreds’ first loss of the season, in this week’s recap.

Special Delivery

Boxboro Blowfish came into the game as the biggest favorite this week, and Orange Co. Beach Dudes’ performance showed why. Boxboro Blowfish earned a nice victory over Orange Co. Beach Dudes, winning 56 to 46. Boxboro Blowfish picked up a lucky win, given that their score topped only two other teams this week.

The loss drops Orange Co. Beach Dudes to 2 – 5, and sinks them to the bottom of our internal power rankings. The win brings Boxboro Blowfish to 4 – 2 – 1.

Boxboro Blowfish had two main stars in Justin Tucker and Saquon Barkley, who together totaled 25 points. Tucker has now gone six weeks without dipping below the average kicker’s points. He has ridden that consistency to become the 2nd best kicker in the league.

Coaches dan callahan and Ross Hessler put Mark Ingram into the Orange Co. Beach Dudes lineup for the first time this week, but Ingram might want to keep his bench warming pants clean. Ingram was the worst of six underperformers, notching 1.5 points.(1) Coaches dan callahan and Ross Hessler are still waiting to get one above-average week from him.

Boxboro Blowfish have a lucky matchup set for next week. They play Happy Valley Violence, a team currently on a three game losing skid. Making things even easier, Happy Valley Violence will be without Travis Kelce, who has a bye.

As for Orange Co. Beach Dudes, they will square off against Dallas Armadillos next week. Hopefully, there won’t be too many bye week players in the lineup, as it will feature the worst gameday coaches in the league so far.

Show’s Over

New Chester Thorobreds came into this week’s match-up on a five-game win streak, but Keystone Longfellows put an end to that. Keystone Longfellows had just enough against New Chester Thorobreds, winning 61 to 56.5. Despite the good result, Coach Terry Muth have to be concerned, as this is the 3rd straight week that their squad has scored fewer points than the week before.

That’s four straight wins for Keystone Longfellows, for those of you counting, which gives them a 5 – 1 – 1 record. The loss is the first of the season for New Chester Thorobreds, dropping their record to 5 – 1.

Kenneth Walker III separated himself from the rest of the crew on Keystone Longfellows, dropping 27 points. That performance was good for 4th place among all players this week.(2) He hit 22.09 MPH on this 74-yard touchdown rush, making him the fastest ball carrier in the NFL so far this season.

Meanwhile, New Chester Thorobreds had many underperformers, but Leonard Fournette stood out, notching only 1 point. That’s the fewest points that he’s scored so far this year. His performance this week also ended a three game streak of beating the league average.

Coaches mike white and Rich Sladic can hardly be blamed for this loss, as they set a perfect lineup this week. That wouldn’t have happened if they had just played it safe. They started DeVante Parker instead of Damien Harris, despite the experts’ prediction that Harris should have played.

This decision netted Coaches mike white and Rich Sladic an extra 4 points. This is the first time this year that Coaches mike white and Rich Sladic have set a perfect lineup.

Sweet Mercy

Frelinghuysen Froglickers had the best wide receivers coming into this game, and they came through for Coach David Zilberfarb once again. Frelinghuysen Froglickers used sticky hands to power themselves to a 82.5 to 63 victory over Happy Valley Violence. Ja’Marr Chase scored 26 points, while Chris Olave scored 10.5. Chase finished Sunday’s game with 130 receiving yards, most of which came from his 41 and 32 yard touchdowns.

Meanwhile, while balance might be good for gymnasts, it didn’t help Happy Valley Violence this week. Terry McLaurin paced the team by beating the average wide receiver by 5.1 points, while Brandin Cooks (4.4 points worse than the average wide receiver) was the worst on the team. Cooks’ 3 points made him the worst starter on his team for the 2nd time this season.

The game ended one losing steak and started a new one. With the win, Frelinghuysen Froglickers put an end to their four game losing streak. The loss makes it three in a row for Happy Valley Violence.

Joe Knows

This contest featured the top performing player this week in Joe Burrow, and not surprisingly, he played on the winning team. Burrow was the key component as Miami Muffdivers crushed Dallas Armadillos, winning 123.5 to 87. His 501 total yards and four total touchdowns on Sunday make him the first player in NFL history with multiple 500 yard, 4 TD games.

Austin Ekeler helped out as well, exceeding his projected point total by 9.3 points. Ekeler is on quite a hot streak, performing better than any other starter over the last three weeks. Kenyan Drake provided the only truly sour note for Miami Muffdivers this week, as he scored zero points.

Meanwhile, Brett Maher and CeeDee Lamb were both working off the same playbook this week, posting only 6 points for Dallas Armadillos. Underperforming is the new normal for Lamb, who has gone three straight games without hitting his projected point total.

In most other games, Dallas Armadillos’ five overperforming players (led by Patrick Mahomes, 26 points) would have brought home a win. That makes it four straight games of overperforming expectations for Showtime.

With the win, Miami Muffdivers moved to 6 – 1, good for the top spot in the Paterno division. The loss drops Dallas Armadillos’ record to 3 – 3.

Demolition Derby

There were several blowouts this week, but none bigger than this one. Big Oregon Bang thoroughly dominated Mercer Mustangs, winning 89 to 32.

The win gets Big Oregon Bang back above .500 at 4 – 3. The loss leaves Mercer Mustangs now with the worst record in the league at 1 – 5.

Big Oregon Bang, who were a 5 point favorite coming into the game, had a decent start during the early Sunday games. Travis Etienne’s 16.5 points were the key contribution. It was a day of firsts for Etienne, who scored his first NFL touchdown and topped the 100 yard mark for the first time, finishing the game with 114 rushing yards (49 came from this rush alone).

Meanwhile, Coach Jim Waugh’s squad was an absolute embarrassment. They had three laggards, with Mark Andrews’s zero points being the worst performance. No other tight end scored fewer points than that this week.

Mercer Mustangs also had to deal with a poor effort from Tom Brady (6.1 points below expected). Unfortunately, more bad performances might be on tap for Brady, who has seen his point total drop in each of the last three weeks.

Going into the Sunday late games, Mercer Mustangs were already a long shot to win. After Nico Collins scored only 1.5 points, the game was over.

No Threat

Hopefully Coach Ron Yeany has been able to find excitement in the non-fantasy parts of his life. After last week’s blowout, he was involved in another run away game. Connecticut Wildcats gave Chicago Mud a 83.5 to 47 drubbing.

This loss brings Chicago Mud’s losing streak to four in a row, putting their record at 1 – 5. The win brings Connecticut Wildcats to 2 – 5.

Aaron Jones did about as good for Connecticut Wildcats this week as he did bad last week. Although Connecticut Wildcats won with a balanced effort, Jones was the first among equals, producing 18.5 points. This is the 2nd time this year that he has paced Connecticut Wildcats. He only rushed for 23 yards on Sunday, but more than made up for it in the air by catching nine of his 10 targets for 53 yards (and this awesome aerial touchdown, his second of the day).

James Robinson has been dead weight throughout Chicago Mud’s losing streak, and this week brought more of the same. Robinson was one of three big underperformers, combining with Michael Gallup and Jeff Wilson to put up 3 points. Robinson has now underperformed the league average running back in four straight games. He took a backseat in Sunday’s game, failing to record a single carry or catch the only pass he was targeted for.

Chicago Mud better not be making a habit out of losing to a sub .500 team, as they face off against bottom dweller Mercer Mustangs next week. Both Chicago Mud and Mercer Mustangs will enter that game trying to recover from the beatings they each took this week.

Meanwhile, Connecticut Wildcats will collide with Philadelphia Griffins next week.
