Playoff teams set: DAL HVV SYR and BOS; Griffins will finish with their first losing season EVER

There will be no drama in the final week of the regular season — the 4 playoff teams are set. The Dallas Armadillos, who wrapped up their division 2 weeks ago, will be joined by the Happy Valley Violence, who ironically beat Dallas this week 76-71. Dallas at 9-3-1 has the league’s best record. Happy Valley stands at 9-4 heading into the final week.

The two highest-scoring teams of Week 13 are also the final two playoff participants. Syracuse posted a huge 105-37 win over the Froglickers, and in the process notched the league’s highest score in nearly 3 years. Boston knocked MassIll out of playoff contention with a 90-31 win over the Mud. A Blizzard win in Week 14 would clinch the division. A Blizzard loss coupled with a Wildcats win would give the division title to Boston. Since both teams are already in the playoffs, the division loser will get the Wild Card slot.

In the overall points race with 4 weeks remaining, Boston has increased it’s lead slightly, but Syracuse has taken 2nd place in points at 44 behind Boston. Dallas is 3rd and Happy Valley in 5th — all within 86 points of the leader. The 4th-place points team at 60 behind the leader is the 5-8 Philadelphia Griffins who, with a 61-33 loss to Oregon this weekend, will finish with the franchise’s first losing season ever. Prior to this season, the Griffins were the last remaining team in the 20-year history of our league to never suffer a losing season.

  1. Thanks, Sam – but I think I’ll keep all my starters in the lineup. I don’t want them to get rusty for the playoffs, plus I’ve got 4 other teams nipping at my heels in the points race.
