We’re still waiting on the Miami Muffdivers to come up for air long enough to send us a roster of protected players. In the meantime, here are some choice nuggets overheard on Protection Sunday:

• “Stop playing with one ball and deal with a team that has 8!”
• “Does Nick have scandalous pictures of NCT crew or what?”
• “You can have the rest of my miscreants, you vultures!”
• “I haven’t had a chance to do anything with FFL yet, so my strategy for this year will be to put as little time in as possible, it certainly can’t be any worse than in prior years!!”
• “Dallas Armadillos trade our 9th round pick this year to the Philadelphia Griffins. Many other teams are giving to the Philly Cause this year and Dallas wants to contribute as well.”
• “How can a team trade away Donovan McNabb, DeAngelo Williams, Ryan Grant AND Reggie Wayne in the same day? That could be a championship team right there.”
• Paul talking to Cathy (on the landline) talking to Doug who is talking to Ying (on the cellphone): “No, don’t trade with him!”
• “We did not protect Favre but are still entertaining trade offers?!?!?!?!” (via email an hour after the deadline)
