Muffdivers to face Griffins in Fantasy Bowl XVI

The Miami Muffdivers, making the franchise’s first-ever trip to the big show, has advanced to Fantasy Bowl XVI with a 39-36 win over Orange County. The juggernaut that had been the Beach Dudes was whacked with bad weather in couple key games and posted their lowest score of the year. Miami will face the Philadelphia Griffins, who cruised to an easy 57-23 win over the MassIll Mud.

Miami played Philadelphia in Week 9 of this season, and the Muffdivers came away with a 62-52 victory. The Griffins are defending Fantasy Bowl champions and the franchise is making it’s record 9th appearance in the Fantasy Bowl.

With two weeks left in the regular season, it’s hard to imagine a scenario where OCD and PHI do not finish 1-2 in points. The Dudes, at 1172, are only 37 points shy of the all-time points record. The Griffins are 185 points back, while the next closest team (MIA) is 160 points behind Philadelphia.

In the consolation bracket, Oregon will move on to play Keystone in the consolation final. The Big Bang beat the Thorobreds 66-45, while Keystone knocked off Happy Valley 64-39.

And in the Cellar Dweller Toilet Bowl, the Mercer Mustangs will play the Syracuse Blizzard. The loser of that game becomes the Cellar Dweller.

  1. 1 MORE YARD?

so if Moss had one more stinking yard, or even a few more inches rounded up, we would have tied with Eggo? Who does these calculations? How are playoff ties broken Ying?

  2. playoff tie

a playoff tie goes to the higher seed = essentially a home field advantage (which we used to have back in the day…)

  3. Moss = 1 yard short

and yes, had Randy Moss got one more receiving yard, Beach Dudes would have beaten Muffdivers … it’s a game of inches
