The two hottest teams in the league squared off this weekend, producing a high-octane shootout. The Philadelphia Griffins clinched the Paterno Division and a playoff berth with a 98-82 win over the Boston Wildcats. LaDainian Tomlinson has found his groove, and his 29 points was high for the week and paced the Griffins’ scoring machine. For Boston, it’s a case of too little too late. The Wildcats have scored 176 points over the past two weeks, but with 7 losses the Cats are out of the top-tier playoffs and could miss the consolation playoffs as well.

Orange County clinched the Cappelletti Division title and a playoff berth, as they rolled easily over the Raptors 75-38. The Dudes also broke the thousand-point threshold for the season (1,056 so far) and need only 153 points through the last 4 weeks to break the Griffin’s league-record 1,209 points in 1998.

Over in the Engle Division, we’ve got a big log jam — a 3-way tie for first place going into the final week. Miami, MassIll (both 7-4-2 overall, 3-1-1 in division) and Oregon (8-5 overall, 2-3 in division) are all statistically tied in winning percentage. There may be a lot of tiebreaker scenarios going on to sort out this division race. The Muffdivers battle the Big Bang in week 14; the Mud will wrestle the Froglickers in the final week of the regular season.

Happy Valley and Keystone remain atop the wild card race, and HVV holds the tiebreaker over KEY via their week 9 win over KEY. The Violence upped it’s record to 8-5, beating the Big Bang 64-52, while the Longfellows came up short against Miami, 52-49. Their record falls to 8-5. Happy Valley plays New Chester in week 14, and Keystone faces Mercer.
