When 4-3 Syracuse submitted their lineup this week for their contest with 7-0 Keystone, SYR owner Doug Weaver likened the situation as David vs. Goliath — “except I don’t have any stones to hurl – just the walking wounded on loser teams.”
But those walking wounded took a 53-50 lead over the Longfellows into the Monday night game. Keystone prevailed, however, when rookie Patriot WR Chad Jackson’s only catch of the night was a touchdown. Keystone moves to 8-0 with a 56-53 win over Syracuse.
Owens traded: In a trade just before kickoff Sunday, the RIB Raptors traded WR Terrell Owens to the PHI Griffins for QB David Carr and a conditional 2007 draft pick. Owens posted 7 points for PHI (107 yards receiving, 2-pt reception). Carr was benched in the second half of the Texans’ game and scored -1 for Richburgh. Reminder: the trade deadline is kickoff Week 11.
